“The E in Waste”

Welcoming all High School Students in Ontario to join Green Urban Revitalization Educational Services to kick off our NEW themed workshop series all about Green Energy and Electronic Waste! This month – The E in Waste! 

Bring your friends, and earn VOLUNTEER HOURS for joining us for 2 hours of virtual fun, education, peer networking, and innovative brainstorming. We’ll play educational games, teach you the basics of e-waste and green energy, and provide you with experiential take-home activities for ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER HOURS! You do not want to miss out on this exciting event!

“Solving Food Injustice with GreenUR – One Workshop at a Time”

Green Urban Revitalization Educational Services is closing out our theme of All Things Food with our FINAL food-related workshop – this time on Food Injustice and Food Insecurity!

Come enjoy 2 hours fun, music, games, quizzes, and competitions in our virtual workshop and earn volunteer hours while you learn how to make the world a better place with your peers and friends!

The more the merrier – so make sure to invite your buddies to join you for the workshop and we are sure to have a blast!

Also, as per always, the participants of this event will be the first to be invited to our exciting hands-on, take-home volunteer activity for EXTRA VOLUNTEER HOURS! Earn a maximum of 6 hours from this themed event!

“GreenUR’s Food Waste Shoppe”

Come earn two VOLUNTEER HOURS by engaging with your fellow High School Peers in a virtual workshop to continue GreenUR’s themed series – All Things Food!

Participate in brainstorming activities, online art sessions, and team-building exercises in a fun, and relaxing environment to help come up with solutions on how to reduce food waste in grocery stores, restaurants, and food delivery services. 

We will also be conducting “on-the-spot” research on soup kitchens and food banks in your local neighbourhoods to pre-empt this month’s take-home assignment for additional volunteer hours! All attendees to this event will get an advanced sneak peek at our exciting new volunteer opportunity for High School Students across Ontario!

We encourage you to bring a buddy to the event – the more the merrier!

Buckle in for two hours of food, fun, and friendship as we tackle waste management problems in a practical way and help to make the world a better place one person at a time!

“Love Your Food, Hate the Waste; Tasting a Greener Future”

To ring in the school year and kick off our new theme of “All Things Food”, Green Urban Revitalization is hosting an online workshop for High Shcool Volunteers in the Peel Region and Greater Toronto Area. 

Come prepared with a list of your easy go-to recipes from your household, as well as some photos of your favourite meals to share and we will help to teach you to practically reduce your own food waste in your day-to-day lives.

TAKE-AWAYS:

At the end of the event, all attendees will earn 2 volunteer hours!

Create a personalized list of quick, easy, tasty, and nutritious recipes for “on-the-go” living that will also help to reduce food waste in your own life!

“Dismantle Fast Fashion”

At this event, High School Volunteers will learn about the specific greenwashing techniques of stores like Shein, Zara, Fashion Nova, and H&M. You will also have the opportunity to engage in dynamic conversation, and innovative solutions building activities with your peers and GreenUR’s staff!

Earn volunteer hours while you learn how to dismantle the Fast Fashion system!

  • How exactly is the consumer negatively affected?
  • Where are the production factories located?
  • Ethics of production?
  • What are their specific greenwashing tactics?
  • What exactly can the consumer do to attempt to counteract these efforts?
  • What is currently being done to stop this?
  • Who profits from their greenwashing?
  • Who suffers most?

Meet our dynamic staff! Help build a Textile Waste Reduction Program that would be best for you! Learn about the Environmental and Educational Non-for-Profit sectors!

Engage with fellow youth who are passionate about the environment, textile waste reduction, and the takedown of Fast Fashion!
